De Showtec AirDrive 2.4 IP is een compacte DMX512-transceiver die kan worden omgeschakeld tussen zend- en ontvangstfunctionaliteit. Hij is ontworpen voor trussmontage en tijdelijk buitengebruik en biedt een snelle en eenvoudige manier om een draadloze DMX512-verbinding op te zetten. In de zendermodus kan hij in G3- of G4-modus zenden, in de ontvangermodus is hij geschikt voor G3- en G4S-modus. Een functionele opstelling vereist twee of meer apparaten: één ingesteld als zender en één of meer ingesteld als ontvanger en gekoppeld aan de zender. Er is geen limiet aan het aantal ontvangers dat aan de zender gekoppeld kan worden.

Voor eenvoudige installatie heeft de AirDrive 2.4 IP een speciaal ontworpen behuizing met een uitsparing die precies aansluit op een trussbuis en wordt hij ook geleverd met een montagebeugel voor andere toepassingen. Voor optimale ontvangst en maximaal bereik wordt line-of-sight gebruik aanbevolen. De AirDrive 2.4 IP heeft IP-gecertificeerde Power Pro True-connectoren en is verkrijgbaar met 3 of 5-pins DMX XLR-connectoren. Hij heeft 3 extra optisch geïsoleerde DMX-uitgangen die kunnen worden gebruikt als DMX-splitters/boosters.
